Bump, jamming this now for the first time in awhile, still slays

"You know nothing, Hell is only a word. The reality is much, much worse." Then this leads into the blistering intro of Savannah, what a way to start an album, absolutely brutal m/

Also, I know the comments above me are 3 months old, but self titled and funeral of god both rule, so definitely try those out

On the band's DVD they said they were taking a lot of influence from Neurosis when they wrote this album, but they felt that they had to keep a certain amount of moshy parts to keep their fans satiated lol. This is probably my fave of theirs, but Blood and Fire is a close second. I also think The Fear... and Awake? are underrated.

Those albums have cool moments but are nowhere near the level as this, Blood and Fire, and Funeral of God are on, at least for me. The latter albums are just more consistent.

This is my favorite Zao album. I love the dark nature of it and the atmosphere. Band is pretty underrated in general though.

If every track on the new album is as good as Xenophobe we might have another album on par with this one
