THE CAR'S ON FIRE, AND THERE'S NO DRIVER AT THE WHEEL.

Yeah I'm honestly at a loss for words when someone says this is better than f#a#... Maybe try relistening? It's melodic, chaotic, creepy, catchy. By comparison this sounds like an imitation game. An amateurish Godspeed worship band. In the sea of mediocrity that is post-rock, this has the usual cliches.

This sounds nothing like those other albums check your ears thx this is fantasmological chamber drone 100/100.
|
| |
It is def way too droney, and in that sense, you're right, it sounds quite different. Definitely has characteristics of a godspeed album tho. Just boring as fucking fuck

You just aren't one with the panorama of noise.
|
| |
Totally in agreement with you Gyro. They just sound muted or something...
|
| |
Actually, the material from this album was pretty awesome live.
|
| |
I saw them live during their reunion tour, back when they came off of like a 15 year hiatus or however long it was. They were pretty great but I feel like their earlier material didn't translate as well to a live setting.
|
| |
I feel like they just made this album so they have more material to keep touring. The inspiration well has seriously dried up.

Yeah this stuff was much better live than on record
|
| |
Yeah Gyro I agree again. Can't blame em for wanting to make something they can actually play well live. I know Toby Driver of Kayo Dot said the same thing, basically that it's too difficult to play the Choirs of the Eye material live and that he'd rather put on a good show, which is part of the reason they have shifted in style.

I think this is criminally underrated (not that 3.4 is a terrible rating by any means).

How can this album be a 3.4? Seriously, it's way better than last one. It's a fucking masterpiece.
