The opener is sweet. There couldn't be a better first time listen for 4am on a Sunday than this album.

Ultralight Beam, Feedback, FML, Real Friends, and No More Parties are all amazing. The rest range from really good to trash.

it has no identity. since the beginning all of his albums have innovated and pushed the envelope (especially this one), but his newest is a mess of ideas, some of which work and some of which are terrible

disregarding that this is pretty inaccessible and a lot of people hate it, it still has its own aesthetic identity. it sounds totally singular and maintains the atmosphere throughout. mbdtf, while being WAY poppier and more immediate, also has its own identity, with everything sounding like it more or less belongs. his new album is wildly inconsistent though. the production is hit or miss on some songs, and it sounds like a decades-worth of knowledge in the industry all thrown into one pot that's boiling over. a lot of the songs feel like sketches - rough drafts.
also kanye has become obsessed with formlessness as far as song structure goes.
