oh no, i was being quite serious. this album is a god damn mess. it's boring, it's annoying, it goes nowhere. if it didn't have 'godspeed' next to its name, i'm pretty sure people wouldn't care half as much about it

Those releases are a 4 and 3.5 respectively imo, so I really don’t hear this yawning chasm separating the two eras in terms of quality. Their old stuff is pretty good, the new stuff is pretty good, for slightly different reasons
