kendrick sounded a lot like lil wayne earlier in his career. it's not uncommon for rappers to mimic other emcees to help them develop their own sound.

That Jay Z video is... Damn. If anything, rap is more original now, because sampling is less common, but every artist has to have inspiration. True for rap or any damn thing.
