Faith in Others is probably tied with River as 3rd best

I don't like River much. Voice of Treason, Eternal Rains and Faith in Others are the clear top 3 for me.

Don't even like Moon Above much. Elysian Woes is ok I guess and Goblin's not bad but could/should have been a lot better.

If the rest of the album was as good as Eternal Rains I think it'd be their best album since Blackwater Park

Damn, I actually quite like Cusp now relative to the rest of this album

Cusp is still the worst on here by a country mile.

Moon Above is nowhere near as good as the best songs on Heritage.

Cusp doesn't deserve all the hate it gets, its second half is actually an album highlight for me. A lot of it is a little too simplistic for me though, like new DT as people have been saying.

Honestly I don't really care about if an album is varied, especially for bands like Opeth; I like albums to feel united and cohesive, as long as the different songs evolve and progress, and Heritage is perfectly like that for me.

But yeah, I get your point, I just don't feel the same toward Heritage

You think this is more varied than Heritage? Hmmm...

One of the only redeeming qualities of Heritage is how varied and different it is. I think Pale as a whole is the least varied album Opeth has done.

Heritage isn't that varied, it's just Opeth doing a throwback prog album with their songwriting tropes while this expands on those influences while letting in some of their classic style as well.
