Damn i don't know about this album. I really feel like besides all of that posty/sludgy goodness, the

album just seems to get lost amidst these little experimental parts, even whole passages idk. It feels

amazing sometimes, then it seems to go down the drain. It creates a mood and destroys it or something,

all this experimenting takes some of what it could have been away.

I know most of you would disagree really hard, but hey this is another take on it.

Having that said, I: The Weapon, Vicarious Redemption and Passing Through all bring tears to my eyes.

Masterpieces.

see if it's better for you if you imagine it as a soundtrack. the scattered motifs here make me feel like it is. that said there's definitely no more sludge in this.

I've read on wikipedia that the album is largely inspired both in concept and sound, on 1927's movie Metropolis. They wanted to break from the "rural" feel they had going, and focus on the industrial society, a man vs machine thing.

Yeah with that in mind i guess this could make more "sense" to me, thanks Relinquished.

Also i feel like there's still some sludge in this man, I: The Weapon is pretty sludgy, that's just one example.
