I remember On The Backs of Angels and Breaking All Illusions being decent songs, but the rest of the album didn't grab my attention at all.

I actually have seen that My, and the guitar leads are nailed perfectly.

Yeah, I saw it about a year ago and now I'm relistening to the original to make comparisons later.

Doesn't have the slight gritty feelings that the original has obviously, but it's a nice alternative

outcry's wankery section and lyrics are really terrible but the last few minutes are pretty catchy and epic

bridges > breaking > lost not forgotten > beneath the surface. the rest doesn't matter in any way

Just finished listening to the album for the first time and at the end of the title track, my first thought was, "wow, it's over that quickly?" Smashing stuff.

I don't know, honestly Octavarium t/t is obviously their most cohesive epic, with the whole build-up and everything, but on the other hand ACOS has some of their best moments and riffs ever. So, the two are pretty tied for me

8v is one of their weakest 20+ minute tracks imo. It's so random as far as instrumentation is

concerned. That's not the case at all with A Change of Seasons where everything flows together nicely.

I haven't heard it in years tbh but I remember it being alright.

Lately people have been saying it's better than A Change of Seasons though which is just crazy.

Comparing the t/t to A Change Of Seasons is absurd. It's like comparing a sirloin steak to a Big Mac, and even a Big Mac is more tasty than the t/t.
