If there is a physical copy available for purchase, I would have bought it by now. Would be lovely to own.

There is, but it's just been sold out indefinitely (not from high purchase volume - I presume because they're independent "starving artists" who don't have the capital to continue pushing physical releases):

I do converse with the band members somewhat regularly, so the next time they hit me up I may suggest inventorying several physical (CD/Vinyl) copies of Grandfather because I am certain that in the right quantity they'd get their money back plus a little just from members of this site alone.

There used to be... they have their merch through simple stereo, the cd is sold out though

Their other stuff is on there as well if you are interested. I was able to purchase Antarctica at least.

Antarctica is good but this is the ToT to physically own, if ever there was one. I also wouldn't mind having Foundry...to this day, A Chain and Mont Ventoux are two of the most beautiful songs I've heard. Can't imagine how stunning they'd be on vinyl.

Edit: Just checked, and Foundry is available on vinyl. Score!

Yeah I've seen that Sowing, I would definitely pay for the album and I bet a lot of users here will as well. If you can make it happen that would be amazing, good luck. Maybe you can start a list to see how many active users would be interested?

I just shot them an email to get a feel, but yeah if you wanted to conduct a survey that might help persuade. Obviously you can't count on people's word, but I bet if 100 users said they'd order (might be too optimistic there considering this has just over 200 total ratings, but still) we'd easily get about 50-60% return.

@Sowing,

the last time I was in a band that were cutting albums, we got in touch with a vinyl plant in the Czech republic that cut us a thousand LP's for two grand (euro).. it came out beautifully too.. might be something to throw out there when you talk to them, if they've got interest in pressing enough copies..

"Grandfather truly masters the art of the album atmosphere."

agreed, thats in part what separates this from what otherwise can often be a bit of a boring genre

stylistically its like the lamest blandest shit you can possibly imagine but doesnt matter in the slightest cuz the songwriting is on a whole nother level.

ah you guys dig the songwriting? I get distracted by the instrumentals that are a bit average to me. the lyrics are pretty sappy but that's ok.

A Year in the Garden Shed is so outright gorgeous and hauntingly sad.
