I wonder if they'll keep Papa Emeritus 4 fr their next full length album, considering they usually die every new album.
Technically he was in Prequelle but that was as Cardinal Copia, not as Papa so I personally don't think it counts.

I hope they do. The joke is getting old.

If they do and bring a PE 5 they're definitely gonna pull all the stops. I could see they're next album being a retrospective containing aspects of ever one of their past releases. I'd like to see em use more colors for the makeup as well. Though then we have the question of what happens with Sister Imperator, since she's the one who pushed for Copia's Ascension and has been manipulating things behind the scenes. Since Nihils kids are all dead, a potential PE5 might be a rebel usurper.
Or. This is an interesting idea. They could do a Retro throwback album starring Papa Nihil, they could say it's a lost album from Nihil's days as frontman and give it static effects and shit to sound like it came from 1969.

Fuck Cal, you're pretty cultivated on Ghost-lore, respect. It would be interesting to see them go down the road of Satanic Panic for sure. I'm pretty sure they will never go back to the Opus sound cause it just doesn't fill arenas, and it's pretty clear Tobias' priority is selling albums and becoming bigger.

I like Meliora and this more than Opus tbh. Meliora has far more interesting songwriting and just more interesting songs in general (He Is, good lord what a great track) and this is just catchy as all hell.

He definitely is, but I wouldn't discount an Opus revival just yet. They will definitely make a successor one day, just not as a full length album. They usually put the non-commercial specific stuff in their EPs, and I have no doubt they'll do an Opus style EP eventually.

I was thinking that the other day, Satanic Panic (although only two songs) is probably their best sound they’ve had and after Mary going viral I could see them doing some cheesy found footage gag for the next album.
Tobias knows how to sell and they could get huge if he capitalised on that sound

Satanic Panic is legit one of my favorite EPs ever. Idc that it’s only two songs, the two songs are damn good. They’re some of the best songs the band ever made, I’d love a full LP with that vibe.

I could definitely go for more 70's satanism.
And them joining Eurovision would be amazing, girl.

I love their upside down cross/capital G logo, but i always find it hilarious when horror movies about demons and Satanist related media always use the upside down cross, because is a holy symbol lmao

Decent album but I still have no clue what the fuck they were thinking about when they made Twenties.

They were thinking I want to write a song about Donald Trump
I actually am a 20s defender I think it’s fun as hell though there’s a couple lines that make me cringe

I asked a friend to name an album so it will be my first listen of the year and it was this one
Was a fun jam. I wasn't blown away or anything, but liked it. If Ghost have better stuff, I will happily explore their discography

They definitely do. Meliora and Opus Eponymous are by far their best and most consistent albums. Neither are mindblowing but both are just really fun heavy metal albums from beginning to end.

^^ Meliora especially. Opus has a bunch of jams but they all kinda start to run together near the end of the record.
Meliora is legitimately one of my favorite albums of all time. The songwriting is more diverse, riffs hit harder, impeccable flow. Probably my favorite Papa performance too.
And absolutely check out the Satanic Panic EP. Those two tracks are probably closer to what you’ll find here than those two records we mentioned
