That's pretty much it for highlights, true. I also like Wildest Dreams as opener. Simple but great.

Thing I don't like about this album though is that the latter half (excluding Paschendale and Journeyman) tend to merge togethr and are just plain average for me

I agree. Gates of Tomorrow, New Frontier, Face in the Sand & Age of Innocence are actually pretty average for Maiden, I came to discover lately. I'm thinking of lowering my rating for this.

Average for Maiden is kinda awesome for tons of other bands.

I think the real problem is the length - only the first two songs are shorter than 5 minutes.

True. They've had that problem since The X Factor.

New Frontier is awesome. Gates of Tomorrow is kinda terrible though, and Face In the Sand and Age of Innocence are unspectacular.

Paschendale and Montsegur are my two favorites.

The biggest gripe I have with this album is the artwork. I know its been touched on before but Maiden usually has great album artwork. DoD is just atrocious. Music is quite awesome though

It's not their worst though. That would be The X Factor.

The artist also had his name removed from the credits. Maiden used the unfinished version of the artwork. I guess they wanted to release the album quicker.

I must be about the only person on the planet who thought the cover was actually kind of bizarre/cool.

And at least there’s a lot of focus on Eddie (unlike A matter of Life and Death)

I like it too; my favourite is probably BNW though

Okay, who here would kill me if I said that this is, quite possibly, my favourite Maiden album to date?

Don't get me wrong, I love all of their '80s stuff, and a fair amount of their '90s stuff, but this...this is excellent from start to finish.
