Never listened to this band before but from the sounds of it, I need to change that.

It's dead now so don't stress it
but basically an offshoot of an offshoot of post-hardcore defined by Will Swan's playing style, had a handful of good records then became stale.

Great album. I have a discography that I will now binge.

Man the instrumentation is so tight, but this vocalist just doesn't do it for me like other swancore guys do.

Very enjoyable album. Nice flow, good songwriting

@Zac Hell yes man, enjoy the ride. Only possible bump on said ride is Culture Scars, which marked a pretty divisive change in sound for them. I'm interested to hear where you stand on it when you get there! Doing their discog chronologically (don't forget the EPs!) is the way to go.

@bowler I honestly was never a huge Donovan fan, but he's sold me on this alb. Sounds so clean and confident while maintaining that emotional edge.

I have no idea what this is but I listened to under the floor randomly and it's pretty great. will check this

I really never thought they'd be able to touch the quality of Wake again, but here we are. Fantastic album top to bottom. There are some standouts, but everything is so good here I don't find myself wanting to skip around at all. Donovan sounds great and the instrumentals are enticing and varied in style, pace, and tone. This thing absolutely flies through its 42 minute run time.

Yeah it's a decent amount longer than New Age, but it feels just as fast. That relentless energy, man...

I really wish I liked this guys voice. Everything else from the two tracks I heard was great.

Record is good, also a very nice review, albeit a bit long. But that also stems from me not being used to reading the reviews on this site anymore I guess lol

Yeah I had a bit to say about this, but I've definitely tried to trim down my style this year especially.

"Only possible bump on said ride is Culture Scar" which resident GreyShadow will vehemently disagree with !
this album sounds closer to Culture Scars than the rest too imo
but i'll stop before i go on about how Fun In Dysfunction and Body Damage are cut from the same cloth as Wake, Entertainment Lies and Burn Nice and Slow are some of the best pop songs in post-hardcore, last 3 tracks are their strongest run, oooooooooooooooooops

“i think this is my favorite of the past 3 as an album but the past 2 have higher highlights.” [2]
Also I’m mega in the minority, but culture scars is their best record
