Agreed with emim but i have no idea how mom thinks there is a kermit resemblance.

Storm, listen to Kermit talk for a bit, then put on Intentions. Picture Kermit singing
|

Kermit had some reasonable success with his covers on Youtube. Perhaps he could do an Anberlin song or two, as well

It’d be great publicity!

Great review Sowing!
Really enjoy most of this EP- a bit disappointed with Stephen’s vocals here though, more specifically on the first two tracks, he sounds really strained in that higher register, kinda weird to me considering how great of a vocalist he is. Animals is incredible. My main issue with this EP though is more on the flow, each song ends pretty abruptly
*insert two minutes of wave noises here*

first impressions: it's good but it's not immediately hitting me as hard as the last EP did. Animals is a ripper though

Decoder is the weak link first listen. Everything else is fantastic.
|
| |
Yeah, there's a lot to chew on with this one. They've never been this experimental. Definitely needs more listens to properly appraise. My first impression of Decoder is that it reminds me of BFTBM, and not in a good way.
|
| |
Ah, it's growing on me, but the electronics and reverb on the end with Stephen's voice is annoying. It's good the song doesn't overstay its welcome.

Glad to see so much love for this! I think I slightly prefer Silverline, but this EP is still excellent and also gets bonus points for being the most experimental thing they've ever done. I'm trying to blend this and Silverline into the perfect LP tracklist now. So far I love the flow of Two Graves --> Lacerate --> Nothing Lost as the opening trio. Also, Animals --> Decoder --> Body Language has an awesome flow.

Animals sounds like a Scandinavian song, with the weird European accent and all.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? ;-)

The girl spoken word pieces in Lacerate sound nearly identical to the ones used by BMTH on There is a Hell. Can't remember the song it was in, but it is nearly identical. This is a compliment, really cool atmosphere created with it.
