I never understood why people say We Are Not Your Kind is a return to the intensity of their first two albums. It feels so tame to me, I don't get it. Went to listen to it back to Iowa to make sure I wasn't crazy and for all its flaws, Iowa FUCKS, it's not even close.

Three songs into this, it's pretty nice. Adderall probably won't make my playlist but it's very well done. The Dying Song is a pretty standard Slipknot song but it does have some interesting instrumentation in the second half. Chapeltown Rag's chorus feels out of place but the verses are really satisfying.

Mixing and quality so far is just...meh. Also Adderal is so weird for a Slipknot song.

I like Adderall as an opener, should have been about 2 minutes shorter though.

I like Adderall as an opener, should have been about 2 minutes shorter though.

Also, Will Putney should produce every metal album. Album could use more grime.

agree that Adderall could have been shorter. this is obviously not their best work and not as good as We Are Not Your Kind, but I find that I honestly enjoy this album enough to call it solid

I don’t think it sounds “over produced”, I think it just sounds like a very well engineered album. I think it sounds great. The drum sound is the best yet on a slipknot album. The bass drum isn’t overly clicky sounding like usual and that’s much appreciated. Always been a pet peeve of mine with this band. I’m already excited for the next slipknot album. The direction on this album rules and I can only imagine them being free of their shitty label will inspire a next level type of experience.

I don't see how anyone can consider this to be better than WANYK tbh. WANYK had a few legit good songs, some of them the best they've written in 15 years. This has nothing interesting honestly.

Also, the choruses and lyrics on this album are heaping trash. Most songs are ruined just by virtue of this.

This album has its moments, but We Are Not Your Kind is a far better album.

I'm moving and need to purchase a new washer/dryer in the next week. I stopped off at the local scratch-and-dent to look at some bargain options but after listening to "Warranty", I'm not so sure that isn't an omen of some sort
