Some parts of this are a lot of fun, "The Future Says Thank You" in particular.

First spin verdict is tracks 1-6 are rad, the rest weren't my vibe but I'll give a few more listens

Of those, I think "Fluorescent" is great, but the final two tracks are head-scratchers for me. Not sure where the indie pop fits in outside of mimicking Rolo's incorporation of poppy-er songs.

The last track threw me so off as well as some certain parts throughout the album, but overall definitely a banger. I don't know if it can top debut though... only time will tell. And yeah I don't think I am liking the new "Poppy transitions between heavy" trend. It can throw off a songs momentum as a whole
*edit* also amazing review! muah

Glad you enjoyed the review, this one took longer than expected but I needed to figure out my thoughts. Tyman and I actually had a good discussion that crystallized things for me.

Fluorescent is so good

Other than the cleans sounds like Dying Wish. Still enjoy it though.

Dying Wish is dope and I totally thought the same thing, so the comparison is accurate

strong review as always. did not expect the Rolo influences to shine through as brightly as they did, but Djamila's vox are phenomenal so Ithaca gets a pass

I feel like they incorporate different influences from trending metalcore records, but they take away some of the wrong lessons from them.
Honestly I'm not a first or second half guy, I enjoy songs from both sections. Just a matter of what clicks and what doesn't.

This album is the DEFINITION of a 3.5
Strong, catchy songs and some delicious riffs, but at times it feels like they’re a little afraid of straying from the “scream verse - sing chorus” formula? Definitely feels like there’s potential for exponential growth here.

I do hope people check this, I'm worried that the laborious album rollout killed off a lot of early hype.

The second half of You Should Have Come Back is so good, also love Fluorescent and the first two tracks
Nice to see this reviewed, thanks Mars, gonna give it a read now.

You Should Have Come Back is the best song here, also not crazy about the closer like most others (tho her vox are incredible)

It's different in a good way. I can jam this. have to say it slaps.
