haha wow...i just had an experience. I was browsing through soulseek, and just for the fun of it I typed in 'A Matter of Life and Death'...and all of the tracks pop up, able to be downloaded. So I was like 'SWEEETTT!' and started to download them. Well, I previewed 'Different Worlds'...and well...um...unless Iron Maiden now plays death metal and Bruce sounds like the guy from Cannibal Corpse...it wasnt them...

I prefer Bruce Dickinson voice but this is still good.

I guess I'm just one of the people this album does not satisfy. I just haven't gotten used to it yet. Though I think Sign of the Cross may be growing on me.

Why have I never heard of this?

Probably because Blaze Bailey did the vocals for this period of time when Bruce Dickinson left. It's not bad. I would get it if you're a big Iron Maiden fan like I.
However, if you haven't listened to them much I would reccommend getting started with Powerslave or something from that time period.

Blaze Bayley's vocals aren't bad at all. They are rather nice, but they don't belong on an Iron Maiden cd.

Eh, I think they fit most of the songs here very well.
It's the 80's stuff he wasn't very good at. This Message Edited On 12.18.07

I have this album, and I haven't listened to the whole thing just yet. I also have yet to buy Virtual XI, thats the only Maiden album I don't have and I'm not expecting much out of it.

i need this and VXI to comlete my maiden collection.
imo tho blaze is a horrible singer. the 2 maiden albums with him on shouldnt even be considered IM

Why not?

Blaze is underrated.
Better for Maiden than Paul Di'Anno (but I like him too)
But Bruce is untoppable.

I was just never a fan of Paul or Blaze, probably because the first Iron Maiden album I bought was Number of the beast, and that album just blew my mind!

good review
this was one of the first maiden albums i heard and for me its one of the best
i can understand its not for everyone and it does take a few listens to get into. but aren't all the best albums like that (apparentlty)

So's this one

Decent album. Man On The Edge is great

After the first 3 songs I was thinking this could be a 3.5 at best, but after that it just kept dragging on and on and on...
|
| |
Its actually much much better than the crappy Virtual XI

Changed my mind this is actually really good. The chorus of "Fortunes of War" really ruins the song though imo.
Sign of the Cross, Man on the Edge, Blood on the World's Hands, The Edge of Darkness, and Unbeliever are my favorites.
