Sometimes Squarepusher's cleverness gets the better of him and results in jokes that are funny but not really musically interesting. Putting farmyard noises over beats is funny the first time but the fifteenth??? There is one track where he makes fun of acoustic guitars by adding a fretting sound and a little pause before each chord (like a beginner trying to get their fingers into position). Think he adds an acoustic type decay as well to make his bass sound like an acoustic. Makes me smile every time I listen to it. Another track he has this really dark urban feel to it then suddenly he brings up this tune that sounds like a Japanese video game. Genius ;-)
