Idk because I'm human and see the feeling and emotion on display here throughout? It's closer to a Katatonia or Opeth record than Seether...although Seether are pretty good tbh

....did you just compare White chapel to Opeth?
What version of Opeth? Out of curiosity? Because in my mind White Chapel could only dream to get near peak Opeth

I hear a lot of Ghost Reveries and Still Life kinda vibes here, with the occasional foray into Deliverance/Damnation. Bozeman's cleans definitely have an Akerfeldt quality to them.

I respect your opinion and your love and emotional connection to the album but I disagree.

To each their own. I feel this is a perfect couple with The Valley as it takes everything I loved about that album and puts it more front-and-center.

I just find it so hard to believe anyone can, with a straight face, say this album made them cry and compare the vocals to Opeth. I guess we just live in diametrically opposite realities.

Likewise I find it hard to understand why this is being compared to Five Finger Death Punch. With you on us probably living in way different realities lmao

I've read many other reviews of Matty and you can tell the guy really puts an effort into it because he consistently delivers quality reviews.
I think this album is Whitechapel's best work to date.
Favorite song: Anticure

That's extremely kind of you to say, my friend. I appreciate that :D
I definitely agree with you that this is their best album to date. So much variety and a real focus on songwriting rather than just being "heavy."

Also a great comparison actually, I just hear a bit more Akerfeldt in Bozeman's singing.

Toolcore with way more varied instrumentals + better vocals/lyrics maybe

Definitely hear some Katatonia in the clean vocals now that it was mentioned, really great comparison. I can hear some elements of post-grunge as well in some of the slower songs so it's not far off to compare it to bands like Seether and even A Perfect Circle.

I don't see how anyone could despise the album enough to give it a 1. Or compare it to seether.
Dude saw that whitechapel dropped a song with only clean singing on it and shit his diaper.
