yeah I’d bet that’s what it is
It’s a good review even if I don’t agree with it at all. You honestly convinced me to give it another shot.

I don't get the hype behind this band , it does nothing for me. Tried reading the review but it was long and tedious, you just wernt getting to the point witch brings me back to i dont get this band and I guess neither did you.

“It’s a good review even if I don’t agree with it at all. You honestly convinced me to give it another shot.”
Now that’s how you know a review was successful!
One more thing I wanted to mention in the review but didn’t was that side A of the vinyl release ends in the middle of “The Easy Way” right when Jami Morgan yells “BREAK!”. I didn’t know this, so when side B started I thought is was a completely different song. Kinda blew my mind when it came back to the chorus lol

that is actually pretty cool

i commend u for salvaging this pile of shit album tho ur section on the lyrics really made me cringe and i hope ur description wasn't serious.
band has had 2 attempts to break into the "mainstream" (3 if u count i am king) and further pigeonholes itself w/ every release into the forever position of being a radio metal fest opener band w/ the occasional tour every couple years with hxc bands cuz they know chumps like me will pay decent money to see their old shit live. glad i got to see them when they were still kids w/ h20, terror, and backtrack

I dunno man, Swallowing the Rabbit Whole was like one of the best destroy-all-of-your-own-furniture--by-punching-it-to-death songs of that year.

If you're seeing these guys live for the old stuff you're shit out of luck because when I saw them live the only pre-Forever song they played was "My World". 8 out of 13 of the songs were off Underneath. They clearly want to go down this direction, and it's gotten them a lot of fans in the process, arguably more than if they were still COK.

also what's up Lucca it's been a minute!

i struggle to see how anyone could count i am king as an attempt to enter into the mainstream, even the metal mainstream
i think this site warps our perceptions of what the mainstream even is
sometimes i forget tones and i is an extremely popular and successful artist

All these aggregate sites do. There's a Brazillian pop star named Anitta who has over 62 million followers on instagram but none of her albums have over 300 votes on RYM. Sure regional differences have a lot to do with that but 300 votes feels shockingly low
|
| |
yeah for sure. see jack harlow on this site. platinum certified, has less than 30 votes on his new lp. there are obscure metalcore records with more votes on here than that
its also what makes this site so funny sometimes when we all start taking the piss out of eachother for having elitist/normie taste. our frame of reference is skewed

"i struggle to see how anyone could count i am king as an attempt to enter into the mainstream, even the metal mainstream"
just think it was the beginning of the marketing & sound shift, though the sound shift was only slightly. also when they started the butt metal fest circuits
