According to the inserts of multiple official CDs, Dream Dolphin members are: Noriko, WATER M.5., and FIRE T-1.

Yh saw that the other day - is kinda interesting and unhelpful all at once. I get the impression that the project was basically Noriko's bedroom baby when Hosono signed it; no idea what happened beyond that

lol I wanted more trance with the vibes of Doss' s/t so I skimmed rym and found her 月の癒し alb and liked it and then realised that basically all her shit (so far) is at least dec and often excellent and now im obsessed

understandable and relatable but there must be a reason a couple of those albums have 200 ratings in the past year

this is a complete digression but do music cds sold in japan tend to include recording/release dates?

Her most popular song on lastfm is Take no Michi from Atmospheric Healing, so maybe that one specifically got caught in an algorithm? Not sure about the 月 alb though

re. CDs yes I believe so? Remind me when I'm home on Saturday and I'll have a check

just asked that because it seems way more common even for obscure japanese music to have release dates noted on rym and discogs often down to the day, whereas with a lot of other music even if its much more popular or acclaimed or whatever you sometimes count yourself lucky that youre not getting conflicting results on what fucking year it was first released (looking at 50s and 60s jazz especially here). but its stlil mind blowing to me that stuff can come out in the 80s and 90s and 00s and fucking no one has made a record of what fucking month at least

>Oh wait I misread that as Halica

you know...... perhaps, its been a couple years

halcyon was a massive hit too

808 state also mixed the acid house with the ambient house

Mmmhm yeah no that's a good point - hadn't noticed it for Japanese records specifically, but there's definitely something there. Would be classic Japan to have more accessible, readily available label databases on top of that, but I'll definitely give my discs a comb. Don't have anything pre-90s though so idk how helpful it'll be
