That's a very similar position to what Poland was in, having your lands constantly torn up in the crossfires of other powerful empires like the Prussians, Austrians and even the Swedes is a difficult existence (I'm not from Poland, just have heavy Polish heritage). Romania looks like a beautiful country. If ever I do get a chance to go to Europe it's definitely among my first places to check.

@Dedes - Yes, Poland does have a heavy history. I was supposed to go to Warsaw in early 2020, but it got cancelled. I hope I can travel there sometime soon. Romania does have some beautiful places, especially Transylvania and the mountainous regions.

If this band does the same for me with the Great War as Nile did with obscure aegyptian history then I'm fucking in.

Can anyone confirm to me that the physical release of this album got liner notes explaining the background of each track?

There is a 12-page lyrics booklet, but from the mock-up on Napalm Records' site it doesn't look like there are background details added - https://napalmrecords.com/english/1914-where-fear-and-weapons-meet-die-hard-edition.html

What about it is cringe?

War history is an especially interesting topic. It's been a source of great emotion (melancholy, anger) for as long as humans have existed.
