Lol Chino has listed Hum as an influence on Deftones right down to the White Pony album cover being inspired by this very album cover so yeah I’m sure people would see the similarities even though the genres are different

Because Deftones had an established sound that closely resembled the same style as this and were very popular around that time (early-to-mid 2000s), unlike these guys. So if this came out after their s/t or WP for that matter, this would've been dismissed as 'tones worship much like Loathe's 2020 album
