As I said in the other thread, there are great moments here and there but overall a lot of uninspired riffs and vocal melodies make it sound flat in the end.
This is fine easy listening Architects-like metalcore done well.
Jinjer and Spiritbox are two really different bands, but if you want to compare, Wallflowers is way better in every aspect in my opinion : more cohesive as an album, better production (might be a matter of taste, but this overpoduction on Eternal Blue...), much more ambitious songwritting (with success), and I won't talk about the skills of course. I can't think of any band that sound like Jinjer on this album, even without Tatiana. I won't say the same about Spiritbox.

Yeah I guess is about time we stop dragging Jinjer here and viceversa (I'm guilty too), the more I listen to both albums the more I realize how different they are.

Spiritbox and Jinjer are very different so can we stop with these useless comparisons?
That being said this slaps. Sun Killer is a great opener and The Summit is just sublime.

album is really growing on me. i honestly dont really mind the flow of this thing but part of that is i didnt hear any of these songs as singles so i understand how it feels kinda compilation-y to y'all. sucks they dropped constance so early but its definitely the most closer-y feeling of all these songs. my only tracklist changes are dropping hurt you/yellowjacket (easily the two weakest here imo) for rule of nines/blessed be (and ryo version of holy roller ofc)
gonna echo all the praise the title track has been getting thats definitely the winner off this record for me

Hurt You definitely one of the weaker tracks for me too yeah. Yellowjacket is fun if a bit too Sam Carter centric lol

its not awful but man why doesnt courtney have even a single chorus
|

Album Rating: 4.0
They both sing the chorus together but just by the nature of Sam's singing style and maybe a bit of an uneven mix we hear him a lot more. But yeah she could've had the first chorus by herself at least.
