This release is weird as we've have four to five songs to chew on since forever. I think as a whole, this is a very good release that clearly show the potential the band has. That said, there's some disjointed/odd/formulaic songwriting decisions which makes me suspicious Rise might've had an influence on the album whether the band admit it or not.
I think I'd be much more impressed if I heard this whole album with fresh ears. It's a 3.5 with room to grow.

Added one note in the conclusion that I wish they would’ve added Blessed Be and Rule of Nines to the record. I know we’ve had them forever, but it still would’ve made for a more cohesive and complete album.

Okay, I'm officially stoked.

The Mara Effect trilogy is great but I honestly think you can see a positive evolution of their songwriting from those days to now. The sound might be more mainstream but they have become really good at crafting rock solid songs

Looking forward to this. Circle with Me has been a grower for me and I honestly forgot they released anything else after that recently so will be going into this blind (Except for Holy Roller and Constance)

Excited to listen to this. I've been looking forward to something like this after jamming their singles ever since Rule of Nines to now. I will say, Constance hit different when I first watched the video.

T/T is one of my new faves of theirs. Song just washes over you. Love it.

Ummm about to hit Constance and the end of the trip.
First impressions... Can't say I'm impressed (ha!), songs are all fairly similar with a chorus here and there being more catchy than the other. The straight up metalcore tracks were just not my cup of tea.
Constance and Secret Garden still best tracks, but I'll give more time to the rest this week.

Sun Killer, Silk in the Strings, Halcyon, Circle With Me, and Constance are my favorites.

I see this being around the 3.5 average unfortunately.

And honestly I hope all those who shat on Jinjer's latest complaining about the backband being uninteresting keep that in mind when listening to this record.

You saying this is much more interesting than that, or does it suffer from the same issue?
|

I feel Jinjer's compositions on the last album are way more complex than anything on this and for sure Tatiana is the strong point but they feel like a solid unit.
Much of this would be very average djenting if it wasn't for Courtney's vocals, especially her pop, autotune melodies, I think they are a nice fit.
tl;dr If you would point me with a gun I'd choose Jinjer over this.
