Jesper, I totally understand. Gibbs has the higher pitched vocals. I’ve tried to show my friends this album and they’ve struggled with them as well. They’re definitely an acquired taste compared to Green’s vocals which are a bit more standard. I like them a lot though and feel as if they compliment Green’s vocals really well! Both vocalists are very talented.

Ghandi, there’s a lot more singing on this one, the production is a lot cleaner, and there’s a bigger emphasis on brighter melodies. It definitely depends on what mood you’re in. I hardly listened to their older stuff and that might be why I’m so blown away by this album.

yeah i'll definitely give this another shot later bc the atmospheres are wonderful
tbf i'm surprised i couldn't handle the vox since i'm pretty big on whiny ass pop punk hahah

Album is absolutely stunning. Can't believe how long I've been waiting for this and I can't actually believe it lived up - no - exceeded my expectations. It's their best album, IMO, and not a reactionary hot take.
I don't expect to hear a better song than Witness Marks the rest of this year.

DreamAgain, hell yeah! I hope the reception Loss has been receiving motivates DSHS to write another album sooner than later. I think they’ve really stumbled upon something special with their dual vocal approach.

It's my 2nd favorite on here. It was competing for the top spot but Signal Fire edges it out for me.

Eh, “Witness Marks” is good, but didn’t hit me a hard as other songs such as “Ardour”, “Burdened”, “Tateishi” and “Loss” did.

It’s cool to see everyone with different favorites though. Just reinforces to me how solid the album is.

Jesper, for what it's worth I hated Ed's singing for quite some time and I can enjoy his sections for the most part now. Just gotta power through the whine until you get used to it and can appreciate his melodies.

Whiny vox usually do in a record for me but there actually pretty...pleasant here? They're just incredibly passionate, enough so I think that the personality overrides that normally negative trait.
So far this is good, supppper lush and spacious, especially the title track

Excited to see what this is like! Didn’t really see this band coming back to release something as good as blessed and cursed
