Only jammed their debut and that one is lovely. I'll probably check this out sooner or later. Your review certainly encourages me to do so.

Much respect to Blackmore for being so productive. I'm a bit torn regarding the album, between a 2.5 and a 3 at the moment, but I expected it to be worse tbh.
Nice read Diva, as always. pos.

Thanks manosg. Yes, I've followed your BN reviews over the years, and I usually rate their releases about .5 higher than you, so we're pretty consistent again. I actually liked this LP better than their last, although I gave that a 3 also. Wasn't sure if you'd review this one or not, so I figured I'd give it a go.

I was thinking of writing something, but you did a great job. I don't know if this has happened to you as well, but as years pass and with every new BN album, I tend to appreciate and jam their older material more.

Cool, I barely listen to anything else than their first five.

My only experience with these guys was fucking terrible. Maybe I just tried to get into them at the wrong time.

You reviewed arguably their weakest album, so that may be one of the reasons. I'd try any one of their first three albums, and if that doesn't do the trick, then maybe Blackmore's Night isn't for you.

I listen to Ghost of a Rose a lot, and to their Christmas LP every year, as well as their first three and Dancer and the Moon. I'd agree that Autumn Sky might have been their weakest.

Nice review and congrats on the feature! Haven't listened to Blackmore's Night in ages (and I didn't even know they were still pumping out so many albums!), but I might give this a listen

Not gonna listen to this, but I completely understand why Ritchie ditched Deep Purple to make folk music. If Candice Night was my wife I'd peace out too. Talk about swinging above your weight, Mr. Blackmore. You lucky bastard.

I would've never said this years ago, but after seeing clips of Blackmore playing live with modern Rainbow makes me wish he just stayed with Blackmore's Night.
Time has really taken a toll on his playing and that's ok. He's already a legend

Yeah, it does on all of them eventually. I saw Leslie West in 2018 or 2019, and it made me sad and sorry I'd never seen him closer to his prime.

this is cute but I found it lacking in substance

If you liked it but want something better, check their first two albums which are their best imo

I'm interested. I tend to love medieval-tinged offshoots by various bands but I'm not so sure how I'll feel about a whole album's worth of it. I do figure it's worth a shot, of course.
