"If anything this album actually makes me optimistic for the future. Rumors were circulating since the album announcement that FOAMF was literally just a throwaway album to get them out of their contract with warner records; with the trashed american idiot artwork and the run-time being just over what labels will officially consider a full length album (26 minutes).
*If* that is the case (there's no way to know for sure), then whatever comes after this could maybe have some more effort thrown into it. That, and I personally think they can't do much worse than this album."
Would love it if you're right, because I enjoy this band when they're at their best. Of course, I'm not holding my breath because they've had over a decade to get it right and they still haven't put out a good album since 2009 (IMO, some may go back further lol). So I don't necessarily think it's a label/whatever holding them back.

Even if this is just a ploy to get out of their contract, they're screwing whatever fans they have left by doing it.

Not even going to listen to this. Band has been an embarrassment since Nimrod.

When I saw that album cover I assumed Green Day had come out with some 16 year old b-sides from American Idiot. It's genuinely hysterical that that's the cover for a full length release.

I would have very much preferred Idiot b-sides/lost tracks/whatever to this.

this album was a contract ender, they were obliged to do it and Billie has said in quite a few interviews that they’ve wanted to be independent for a while now but they had to do this album before they could leave Reprise. That being said, even if this album is a huge joke just to end their time with the label, it’s a very unfunny one

Streetlight Manifesto ended their contract in a much cooler way releasing 'The Hand that Thieves' ... speaking of which, where the hell have they been?! I just saw them at Riot this summer, but I think their last album was 2013

Am I the only one who thought Rev Radio was crap but the third part of the trilogy was kinda fun? Like 3 out of 5 fun
But yeah excellent review. New low for the band

I think is the other way round. But to each their own.
