The end of doom & gloom is absolutely jaw dropping on this remaster [2]

Is it worth a shot if I only liked about 3 of their songs ever?

My favorite remasters are ATB's Rareform and Meshuggah's None. I've only listened to DGD here and there but this review reads similarly to how I feel about those two remasters.

Those two are easily the best ones in modern metal/rock yeah. And now add this one to the list.

Never thought I'd mention DGD, AtB and Meshuggah in a sentence before lol

As an enlightened and intelligent music listener, I know the truth that all eras of DGD are essentially equal.

Ill be honest. If you heard The Jiggler for the first time in 2013 and DIDNT think it ruled then something is very wrong with you.

In all seriousness. In some ways I think the overly produced vocals still enhance the theming on the original release. But the instruments and mainly guitars are just so much better now its hard to argue that this isnt the definitive version. Also yeah I might miss the thematic robotic vocals but Tilian sounds like a god on this now LOL.

My problem with this album goes far beyond the mixing I guess. The hooks just aren't memorable.

There is no version of this album that could ever even come close to IG.

the hooks aren't as poppy as most later-era DGD but i think they're still plenty memorable

This album is so much more dynamic and authentic than the first iteration of the album. I couldn't stand how they made Tilian's voice sound. It sounded like he was singing with his hands cupped over his mouth. This version is world's better and I can't stop listening to it.

Death of the Robot is so fucking awesome now

Some of Tilian's best melodies for sure.
