it's fucking cathartic to actually share an opinion with doof for once

feeling like the blemish there was intentional, or at least works well in the art. It rather poignantly and subtly cracks the confident facade created by the makeup/chest tat/gold jewelry.

Kristin is such a wonderful person but I'm just not sure how I feel about this album.

Do You Doubt Me Traitor is the album's peak I believe. But towards the middle this starts to drag. Lyrically, this is as personal as it gets. Heartbreaking what some people suffer through in abusive relationships.

Theres a woman singing about a huge negative in her life an making it a positive thing and a release for her and therapy for many others who relate to it . For some reason that makes you want to belittle her and anyone who appreciate what shes going for, even saying people who relate to it are akin to people watching 'torture porn' That reflects you more than anything. Youre free to slag the music off as much as you want but your hangups on the other elements like 'lipstick' and 'Omg abuse is bornig' are what show you up . Maybe some girls beat you up once.

From what I’ve read in an interview this album actually pulls from other people’s experiences, even using their words as lyrics. She also seems self aware of how over the top the album can get too. Not that it diminishes what people like Doof dislike about this album

Im pretty sure shes out of those relationships/ship although how long it takes to heal I would have no idea and of course shes not impervious to criticism because of the theme of her music. That would be the shittest thing ever indeed. But what should be called out is people trying to belittle that experience in a way of having a cheap fucking dig. Instead of just saying the album sucks. Seems like youre trying to have any little put down of what shes trying to get across which whether you like the music or not, Its important. I get if you want to separate the message and the music itself but sometimes they are Immovable and in this case I believe it is.





Like I said I saw a room of woman break down to one of her live shows it was quite something. All clearly relating in some way. It moved me. That was the moment I kind of 'got it' Might be why Im being a bit too defensive.

deezer I think we share the same experience - i’m like why am I letting so many of these comments that are negative about kristin/the album get to my head? I think it’s that same thing about seeing her live. it’s hard not to be emotionally affected or attached when you see her music and emotions moving people to tears. practically the entire crowd at st. vitus was in tears at the end of her set. i’ve never seen that or felt that before

It isn't beyond some partial ridicule and negative critique as is my annoying way here, an album like this just provokes a need to express your experience with it I guess - plus the universal acclaim will always intrigue, esp when you don't feel it. '
