Damn, beat me to it! The whole thing is a grower to me, but it’s been getting better and better with each listen. Marigolds, Summer of 42, and Violin Tsunami are on another level

This is a very pleasant sounding album but not a lot leaves a real big impression on me. It's all a little too fluffy.

Great review, great album.
I prefer the joy of Lighght, but I like this more than Sonderlust.
I wish that I could grow up with you, awwwww.

Thanks. Lighght was amazing but a little too celebratory/ frenetic for my liking. This is the perfect blend of melancholy/romance/meaningful back story. Also I love that particular line. Marigolds is such a romantic song.

Man you did your homework for this one Sow. I'm not always in the mood for his music but I have it on the check list. Will report soon.

i think the instrumentation and production choices here work better than on sonderlust--
but there isn't a track as beautiful as honeybody in here, either.

Definitely start with 151a first. I think that's his best for sure. Hyped to check this one out soon.

The only thing that detracts from this is the country/americana that frequently sneaks in.
It does makes sense for the narrative, though: The Americans were stupid, here's a taste of their stupid music lol jk

After three listens, I've gotta say this is my least favourite Kishi album. There just seems to be... no substance to it. I found myself constantly distracted because there was simply not enough to draw me in.

Neek dont make me come over there and purge you for your blasphemy

If you 3.5'd C&L I can't imagine this being better than that album, honestly

As a huge fan of Lighght who wasn't grabbed by Sonderlust, this sounds like a return to form.
