Fair enough. I tried to play smart and correct the man but I got owned in the process. Can you believe that? At my age.
I'm such a joke.

Agreed completely with most of this but despite some disappointment, I really love some of these songs.

Yeah massively disappointed but I can't deny A New Color, Breathe and Water are jams

GTFO with those nuances. We're here to hate this album. One more nice word and I'll slash this charitable rating.

You're right, now we need a 2.5-3.0 review for the centrists to neutrally rant below

"The vocals are the worst offender here, let’s get that right. They’re way too floaty in the mix and there’s no variety to them across the entire fifty minute experience. Worse yet, the vocalist has a tendency to overstretch syllables to an exhaustive degree. “It slipped awayyyyyyyy”, “I must stayyyyyyyy”, “Been led astrayyyyyyy”, “Torn awayyyyyyy” - you get the picture. I could easily list another 50 examples of this and I’m not even exaggerating. Even the ones I pulled were from two verses in the first song. It's redundant as hell and the singer abuses this gimmick throughout the entire album, which becomes very grating after just a short period of time."
this one singular point is literally nearly a third of your review and i'm still unconvinced as to why it's a bad thing
and then
"A band whose sound is unique and fun can get away with having same-y songwriting and production, but after enduring the next few lazily constructed songs, many nuisances start to surface in Astronoid that persist to its anti-climactic end. "
a much more poignant point condensed to only one sentence, with no examples as to what makes the songwriting lazy.
your review seems to indulge in one singular point for the sake of bolstering it and not descriptive enough in other ways as to why this album is bad.

Lol. Am I supposed to write a thesis on why this is bad? I already said: homogeneous, stretched syllables, vocals too high in the mix, no hooks, no interesting melodies. I didn't pour a ton of effort into this sure, but I don't think I need to talk any more about it.

I mean if you don't get why this is a negative then idk what to say. Overusing a vocal gimmick several dozen times throughout the album is pretty amateurish.

There’s only one thing worse than bad vocals
Bad AND repetitive vocals
