Big fan of the fact they experimented with their musical stylings while not wavering from the death metal vocals even a little bit. Straight-up did what they wanted to do while not changing other aspects to make it suit a more traditionally acceptable palate. Pleasantly surprised with the outcome. But still prefer "Mysterious Ways..." as it stands! Only heard this once though.
@Buttboy, the final 3 tracks stood out to me the most on my first and only listen.

This actually sounds really fun. I'll have to give it a spin.

Osmark and Buttboy breaking my heart. :[

The softer/clean parts are the highlights

I think the vocals are awful for the music as a whole. Sure, during the heavy parts harsh vocals work but they don't suit the more proggy and rock sections.
As someone else said here, the fact that they are used throughout the whole album is a bit shit.

This looks interesting, will check.
@Xeno Btw small typo in the review, gotta change "if" to "of" in the first album name.

this sounds like very much my jam and I love that album title despite it being ridiculously lofty and grandiose

Saw this around but I skipped over it. Guess I will give it a shot.

So this is essentially a prog rock album with DM vox then? I think they over did those lengthy melodic leads, they seem tacked onto the end of every track & go on for ages. Interesting idea I guess but didn't get much enjoyment out of this beyond the novelty & a couple of isolated moments.

The Mark Knopfler-esque solo on Void of Words rocks
|

Am I off the mark when I say that this reminds me of something like The Allman Brothers? Especially because of the ending solo?
