I gave up for now but I'll definitely give it the additional time it probably deserves

Next time you're outside walking put it in your ears. Or driving, whatever. I think it's the kind of album that clicks when you're doing something and it can just fill the background...hopefully that's not bad advice, but it worked for me and now I can enjoy sitting down with no other reason than to dive into those sweet, sweet soundscapes. :-)

Yeah that track is amazing too. Def in my top 3 here.

I like a few cuts from Ekstasis, love most of Loud City Song, and found nearly the entirety of Wilderness boring. Wondering if this is even something I'll enjoy. Not typically a fan of double albums, and people have said this album isn't big on melodies, which is mainly the reason I listened to Holter to begin with (Marienbad, Our Sorrows, In The Green Wild).

I think I'm gonna hand this a respectable 3 and move on. I admire the ambition and creativity but it doesn't have any effect on me. Maybe it's just another case where I'll come back to it a year later and think it's the best thing in the world.

If Loud City Songs was the drunk sound of a metropolis this one's the sound of a crystal forest on 'shrooms.

Anyone else feel like the drum machine kinda ruins “I Shall Love 2”?

The repetitive drums of that song absolutely ruin it for me. And I don’t feel the “epic climax” folks praise about the ending. I feel each and every one of these songs should be condensed. None of them warrant the length. There are moments the vocals are absolutely grating. Way too sparse too. I know people probably think I come off harsh about my thoughts of this album, but I cannot fathom anyone actually enjoying this. It’s one of the worst albums I’ve heard in a decade, and I freaking loved her last album. I could barely finish it. There were moments I almost gave up but wanted to see if it would ever click. I don’t think there’s a single moment of the album I even remotely enjoy. Just absolute rubbish. But there have been people who heap trash together and claim it is “art,” too, so I don’t know why I’m surprised. Sorry if no one agrees with me, but just wanted to post my feelings on this luls. I may try to give this another shot sometime, but it won’t be any time soon. Maybe after a few drinks or something. It’s like Bjork’s newest album if it was stretched out to an inch of its life.

Nah, you go for it, Brushed. Some of the vocals are just plain odd and not in a good way (looking at you, Les Jeux to You) and the compositions are mostly aimless. Admittedly pretty at times, but near impossible to get into.

This is complete and utter wank, laughably awful after 2 listens

Les Jeux to You literally makes me want to vomit. One of the worst songs of the century. But I’ll leave this one for y’all. I just wanted to throw my thoughts out there since I’m like the only one lol

Lol.

Nah I don't say this lightly, I agree with ya Brushed

Hahaha, I mostly feel the same though I rate it a little more respectively because it clearly has merit and beauty for some folks here. At least we all have a love for the new Daughters in common!
