Yeah, being completely honest here, original Halloween blows It Follows out of the water. I'll agree on Hereditary though, it quickly entered my top 10 horror movies. And that's notttt an easy feat

"and It Follows (which does Halloween better than Halloween)"

It follows is effective, but it definitely deflated in the last third of the film. Still great though. Hereditary was awesome though, thoroughly enjoyed it.

At the time it was just refreshing to watch a horror film that didn't have obnoxious jump scares

I concede the final act was sadly very weak, but it was very effective otherwise. Some demonic entity constantly pursuing me that can take on the form of any person > psychopath with a kitchen knife. Halloween was influential, the soundtrack is iconic, the acting is complete shit, the characters are boring, the scares are pretty weak by today's standards, and so on.

Acting in horror movies in the 70’s wasn’t exactly great in general I think that’s a dumb grudge to hold against it tbh but whatever floats ur boats homie.

But no Gonzo I haven’t seen that I’ll have to check it out.

And yeah I love most Zombie movies tbh. Again though people have sticks up their asses and take them way too seriously and consider them inferior lol.

The back story of the first Zombie remake is amazing and yeah kid Michael is terrifying. Forget the actor’s real name but he was great.

So you concede the acting was shit but I shouldn't criticize it...
