don't think that's absolutely necessary to enjoy this record, but Colourmeinkindness is probably still their best work. i'd check the best songs from that (basically the first five on the tracklist) and the best ones from Promise Everything to understand where this record comes from, ig.

Just rough listened to the first two songs, I'm going to wait until I have headphones for the rest I feel like I'm gonna jam the fuck out and don't wanna ruin it

I was literally telling my wife how JEW this was and didn’t read anything about it and WOW it’s all everyone is saying.

I found this horribly Bland and nondescript

@watchit, you should probably give it a few more listens.

I have loved every Basement album so far at first listen, but this one caught me off guard. It took me maybe three or four whole play-throughs before it really hit. Still not at the level of Colourmeinkindness, but it gets pretty damn close.

I've never heard anything else by this band so I suppose I could give it another shot

Cute album cover. Actually pretty much every album cover of this band is cute. Wonder who paints them?

i only know that alex (guitars) did the cover for I Wish I Could Stay Here and i'm pretty sure another band member did the one for Colourmeinkindness. god i miss tuesdays with tay.

while i enjoy their new, cleaner sound, i sorta miss the grungy-ness of their earlier stuff. this is a logical progression from promise everything though, and i like this a lot more than that album.

Fuck, you weren't kidding about the JEW vibes but damn is it good. I'd never heard of these guys before but I'll certainly be giving this album some plays.

didn't this band like seriously break up? I remember listening to "I wish I could stay here" when it came out but wasn't blown away. the new single on this album is pretty rad though

They broke up after the release of Colourmeinkindess in 2012. Then only like 2 years later they came back and released an EP, and now 2 more albums and signed with Fueled by Ramen.. I personally think they were better before the break up. Everything they’ve released since getting back together has been meh to me, but I still need to listen to this new album but wasn’t feeling the singles too much.
