Enjoying this quite a bit. Thanks Sowing; I wouldn't have found this otherwise.

So glad you are enjoying it as much as you are! Have a top 3 songs or anything? Mine right now are Counting Sheep, Dining Alone, and Big Bad Wolf but there's also like another 2-3 that are almost equal to them. And almost no songs that don't intrigue me in some way.

This is another great album to add to my 2018 list

I found And The War Came incredibly average and this seems to be getting fairly lukewarm reception elsewhere so I think I’ll pass. Great review though!

Awesome, Gyro. Any favorite tracks/moments?
Thanks Boney. I'd be remiss if I didn't make one last pitch by stating that this is quite a bit different from And The War Came...a fuller, more indie-rock approach as opposed to Americana/folk. Anyway, feel free to pass if it doesn't sound like your thing!

Yeah, this one has a more developed feel than his earlier work for sure. I think it's his best

Definitely. I do love how he can jump right back into the folk vibe without missing a beat though, like he does on Dining Alone.

Dining Alone is one of the highlights for sure. I need to give it some more spins before I can pick other favorites.

I really think it's the consistency that gets me. I can't skip any track here; there's only songs that are more amazing than the others.

I liked And The War Came but didn't like the country-ish vibes in some of the songs, so this sounds like I'll enjoy this more.

Yeah chances are that if it's the country aspect that turned you off, then this will be far more enjoyable for you.

Tbh the album art is really the only cool thing about this, I got really bored.

I guess it all really depends on your taste; I can't see anyone getting bored with this if they like folk/indie-rock...so many cool moments and twists. But that's just me.

This review makes the album sound fucking amazing. I absolutely can't wait to listen and stalk the streets with my cane and top hat.

Yeah I mean it's still mainly a folk rock album, I hope I didn't oversell it based on how much I enjoyed it. Regardless, if you are into the genre and like your indie folk weird and atmospheric, then this hits the spot better than anything else I've heard this year.

Nothing this dude has done has ever lived up to that Audiotree session he did some years back now - the raw passion and energy he had in that live session has never been captured on the albums.

finally some positive thinking! I agree, it's fucking beautiful and I don't get how so few others seem to see it...sometimes I think I don't get this site anymore; or maybe I'm just aging and my taste is getting out of touch...but this is easily an AOTY contender as we approach the midway point of 2018
