I almost didn't notice the heart in the artwork, such an amazing album cover.

@Blush, I didn't at first either. Small images on a phone next to an iTunes playlist don't help either.

Fun fact. The drummer of this band is the drummer from freakin' INSECT WARFARE!

I kinda wish you described the music more from sonic and technical standpoints cuz this sounds interesting

A hawks 2.5 does dampen my enthusiasm a bit

Sorry, I do have a tendency to describe how the music makes you feel, rather than the music sometimes. I did have wayyyy more written for this but wanted to keep it under 2000 words.

Hawks is just being a mooch though.

It's a good review but not fully what I personally was interested in hearing ear as someone who is discovering this band through it

And yeah I don't rely solely on anyone's opinions but if something is metal and hawks doesn't dig it (and it's not something that conspicuously sucks) then I have to seriously question why you know what I mean it's a bit of a red flag

Even his majesty himself has some rather questionable 2.5s tho lol

Yeah i get what you're saying but I'm writing a review, not a press pack and I've always taken the assumption that if it's released/streaming a quick youtube or spotify link will generally tell a listener what it sounds like better than my words on a page.

Also, you choose Hawks' opinion over my own? I listen to metal too haha. : ]

i get where you're coming from 100% i definitely dont think that reviews should stick solely to basic information

but yea i like at least having a rough idea of what it sounds like if im just finding out about it you know

and im with you that just listening is better than reading a description but let me remind you that some of us here on this site dont always have the time to listen to everything that kinda maybe slightly piques our interest. id rather read about what it sounds like for 1 minute and decide from there, than have to listen to one or more songs (with the obvious asterisk that sometimes if youre not in the right headstate you listen and nothing sticks or seems interesting evne if its good yknow )

that and i was on my phone with pretty shoddy mobile data in that area so im not just gonna open youtube and stream music on it

Pretty sure "Wayfaring Stranger" is an 1800s folk song too but I haven't found anything to back that.

Us mortals "listen" to metal. Hawks lives it.
