Sleater-Kinney - Call the Doctor

no, it's one of their weaker ones.. I will review it, but it doesn't quite make the cut for the 100th..
|
| |
I'm thinking a box set track by track..

Is this anything like Jack Off Jill's Clear Hearts, Grey Flowers?
That album slays.
|
| |
I can see a similarity there, but this is less negative and cocky.

Easily the best sounding stuff I've heard from this group. Simultaneously playful and powerful.

btw uni AV club loves these guys and described as such:
"can pivot from thunderous rock ānā roll to angular post-punk in mere seconds"
you know...fwiw

didn't dig into AVClub much, but lately they seem to be popping up around stuff I like. might be visiting more at some point.

just saying the band has done some appearances and such for them
they know them well and shared that descriptor...I have no affinity for AV club but they have some cool live performance videos
personally I'd just say they are a rock trio with hard rock and punk leanings

$100 says butcherboy 3.5's this
|
| |
nah he won't
|
| |
i have doubts about that. perfume genius and protomartyr didn't crack that tier. this doesn't have a chance

Great album, although some tracks could have been left out for a 35 minute record and it would have probably been a solid 4.

Still probs the best straight-forward rock of the year.
