This looks exactly like the cover of the most recent Modest Mouse album

Nice review. I enjoyed Monolithe's previous album for its grandiose, majestic funeral doom effort, but this album failed to intrigue me past the first few songs, where the quality of songwriting and performance seems to fall apart. Honestly though, the first few tracks here are great, and would probably contribute to a brilliant EP rather than half of an otherwise inconsistent full-length.

Yeah I’d love for them to go back to their old songwriting style, the longer tracks were so much more rewarding

the first 3 tracks could be a decent EP. but yeah it's nothing more (or less) than an okay album .

Still weirded out that this has less than 10 ratings...

Shame not many people around here dig this band. I really like their sound.

monolithe iii is so amazing but it's like they forgot what made them good

Idk I dig this hard. I should jam III, this is the only one I’ve heard.

III is indeed their best, but I like everything else that followed that one. Their sound kinda clicked with me tbh

Funeral doom is becoming a top 3 metal genre for me honestly.

Funeral doom rulez. Atmospheric metal is the best metal.

For sure. I’d prob even say funeral doom is my number 2 behind bm at this point. Brings the feels hard.
