This is certainly much more immediate and creative than Two Hunters, however I do think Two Hunters is like this beautiful, untouchable primal force and Diadem maybe even more so, making this still a step down from them in my books. However, it has Steve Von Till, and everything is awesome with Steve Von Till.

I love Two Hunters but I've never worshipped it like most people seem to haha. Diadem is easily their best for me though. Prob my fav USBM release all together with Ash Borer's 2009 demo.

I'm starting to like Two Hunters a bit more than Diadem actually, however both are commendable releases.

Now I didn't listen to the last two albums but I think it's safe to say Serpent's Eye is the worst song WITTR have ever written

If a different band released this album I think i'd like it more. Its just not what I expected and hoped for with WITTR. I miss the thick, hazy, fuzzy, synth-laden sound that embodies the pacific NW.

Pretty sure it will stick between a 3.5 and a 4.0, but that's just my best guess.

A triumphant return to black metal after a six year hiatus into ambient bliss, with homages to second wave black metal and the original Cascadian scene in addition to pushing the 🅱️

cascade's ethereal riffs of twilight are like a meteor plummeting from the heavens bathing us all in unholy majesty compared to this.

no that's Cascada. Common misconception but her parts didn't make the final cut of that album.
