This is nowhere near as good as Wasting Light or the Color and the Shape but is more interesting than most of what came in between. During that mid period of their career when they were one of the biggest bands in the world and incessantly on the radio they churned out nothing except generic radio rock with next to no experimentation. While this isn't great, I can appreciate that they've improved as musicians and are at least working to diversify their sound.
