Great review. First post on this site too.

Also, surprised you didn't mention RoS or Lorna Shore when you were going over the more popular acts in the genre

"better than behemoth because behemoth are overrated as hell"

behemoth are overrated as hell, but i'll still take the weakest behemoth album over almost any deathcore album

Probably the best deathcore album I've ever heard

"At the top of this hill though, shines Thy Art is Murder."

Eh. I honestly find this band to be quite boring. Shadow Of Intent and Aversions Crown are way more interesting to listen to imo. But opinions are opinions.

Very good review, even if the band does nothing for me.

I love Hate, but I think I like this more. These guys are def in the top 2 deathcore bands I've ever heard.

Not my first post. And also, I was gonna mention RoS but they're reception is way less good generally than those bands, and Lorna slipped my mind.

one of my favorite sputnik activities has become predicting the album rating the reviewer gives based on the summary

The album is decent but come on guys it's not like anything on this album hasn't been done for 30 years now by much better bands. the riffs are solid because it's fast death metal riffs, nothing memorable though. The slams work because it's death metal slams instead of the usual deathcore chugging. It's essentially a deathcore band playing generic death metal. great fan service but no way this is more than a 3.5.

Also what's up with the behemoth comparison. this got as much in common with behemoth as with any other extreme metal band.

Lol well if we're actually comparing this album to Behemoth, The Satanist is probably the only album it doesnt beat.

The Son of Misery is pretty much the deathcore version of Ov Fire And The Void tbh. Like actually though.
