I’m almost at a loss of words for what I can compare Science Fiction to. Of course, calling this the greatest piece of music would be a major overstatement, and a bit preemptive, yet the individuality and uniqueness it showcases is unparalleled by any other record I’ve heard in my life.

i think squander is the wrong word but other than that, good preemptive response piece. captures the initial visceral reaction to the album nicely; doesnt give a complete account of the thing but imo no album review should do so this early on.

i think its a valid thing to do if the piece is not treated as a definitive review of the album; more a snapshot of the initial experience of turning the thing on for the first time. imo ian's review does the latter well.
