dunno if it's a return to form if he wasn't ever out of form in the first place, y'know? although there's some rather questionable projects he's undertook though

I didn't mean to say he was out of form with Blemish and Manafon, though plenty of his fans don't know what to make of them.
When you say questionable projects, do you mean those two albums he did for art installations?

moreso the collaborations/one-offs, like that spoken word collab he did back in May
not the worst thing ever but not stellar either

I might check out Nine Horses soon, that's considered one of his best side projects I think

Nine Horses is okay
a bit on the bland side but it does just fine

What are his better collabs? I can't find a complete list

he does a seriously beautiful version of Blonde Redhead's Messenger on the Secret Society of Butterflies EP..

I can imagine Manafon is pretty hard to listen to when not in the mood, but the one time I looked into it, I found it pretty instantly rewarding. It is minimalistic and that may turn a lot of people off, but the atmosphere and emotion in those songs were very immediate to me. On the other hand, there was that Sachiko M collaboration that destroyed my will to ever to return to it.
Ah well, maybe one of these days. I mean, I liked most of it.

Yeah The Greatest Living Englishmen doesn't really do it for me but Small Metal Gods is great

this is a must have record. think modern day miles. too much 80's sax? lol.you should actually listen to the record. bill nelson's beautiful guitar on before the bullfight is worth the price.
don't do blemish... just one decent track on it. its the beginning of the end. manafon is the epitaph. the first day is good but damage is so much better.

Is there a meaningful difference between the original Damage and remastered version with the slightly altered track list? Are these versions considered superior to The First Day?

Then again, people ought to seek it out no matter the opinion
While some don't see what makes it great, others do.

One tracklist was made by Fripp, the other by Sylvian.

Yeah Sylvian omitted Darshan for some reason, which I thought was the most beloved song of their collab

run along... fu. you dont know shit for a self proclaimed frippaholic. do your homework before you make stupid ass comments.
imo the fripp version of damage blows the doors off the sylvian produced one... literally. there are plenty of used copies of the 24 karat version floating about

"Do your homework before you comment"
Says the user who is being a cunt about someone having a different opinion and joking around with someone who takes themselves far too seriously
by all means, get that stick out of your ass before you make dumb comments
