@Mythodea

Liv's voice is wonderful, though, so you could try to get into the second and third Theatre of Tragedy records and her last solo album.

@Flugmorph From 2009 till 2013 I would listen to all the symphonic metal bands there were. The brightest era was 2009-2011, when I searched for every goddamn band with a violin or chello or keyboards and whatnot. But now I only listen to Epica sporadically, and one or two songs to give me the feels.

the acoustic songs are the best on here.

nightwish is still the #1 symphonic band no doubt there.

there's a youtube playlist of 25 epica acoustic songs and I heard a few of them. Live in studio performances, they're pretty enjoyable

The Bonus songs had such a playful vibe (e.g. The Funky Algorythm, it's fun listening to Simone singing ''The rhythm that makes my booty move'') I'd like to see them experimenting with other genres and of course quietening down a bit.

This one didn't get much attention. Sounds like they've taken everything from TQE, turned it up, but it's fallen a bit flat.

Still a very solid record. They know how to make a stale genre sound fun.

Average should go down tbh. The 0.3 difference to Quantum Enigma just isn't accurate at all. This one just sounds meshed together without much thought and very few tracks stick out.

indeed. It's just one big pile of ideas and honestly, towards the end, I don't know which song is which.
