Goddess was a gem. Kind of forgot about her since though. Excited to try this out tonight. Good review man.

Is this at all any different from Goddess? Because I really wanted to like that album but it was boring as hell for me.

it's different tonally but the slow pace is the same. it's again kinda split halfway between slow songs and bangers

most everyone is feeling this pretty hard so don't worry

I don't think it's disappointing, I'm just a bit bored by it on first impression. doesn't help that the energy kinda dispenses pretty quickly in the first half so I could see the second half growing on me

Idk I've listened multiple times and I'm pretty disappointed. It gets really bland at times. There are some solid songs. Mother Earth is pretty. Mind Games is cool. But there are lots of uninteresting moments. The chorus of Gemini Feed sounds a bit like Playing with Fire by Elizabeth Rose and I find it pales in comparison. The hooks are underwhelming at times and the mood that I found pretty immersive on Goddess isn't really there. But maybe it'll grow idk.

I liked the sound she had on 'Waiting Game' and to a lesser extent enjoyed stuff like 'Someone New' just because it was vocally interesting but...I'm not getting anything like that from the new album. Vocal melodies on the quieter songs are dull and then there's now straight up ultra generic Charli XCX style 2010's pop which isn't my bag.

I didn't hear the vroom vroom ep or whatever that everyone says is a trainwreck but besides that I like Charli XCX quite a bit so sounds like I will enjoy this

Freddie you might like this, this is far more pop whereas before she had a more sparser moody-bordering-on-torch-songs kinda thing which is the direction I wanted her to develop more.

She's gone the other way, fair enough, not for me.
