Ground Dweller is so much better than Unimagine. Despite it being busier, the hooks were so much stronger, which kind of ironic considering that Unimagine was technically restrained in an attempt to accomplish that. Agree about the production though.
In the second paragraph you end two sentences in a row with "even more". It just reads kind of funny. Otherwise good review. I will probably avoid this.

i just don't find ground dweller interesting for the most part. it's been years of me trying to figure it out and i still don't remember any track fully besides the first single.

Great review man. I do agree that this probably isn't on par with Unimagine, but I really love that album so it's a high threshold for me. Overall I think they did a great job of blending some technicality and artistry into a mainstream-friendly sound. Although I definitely do miss the more prominent lead guitar lines and keyboards.

Ground Dweller was and still is such a fun listen for me. The soaring vocals over the melodic, technical guitar leads and keyboard lines was such a pleasant sound to my ears.

@GreyShadow Yea Division Symbols was pretty good, but I really enjoyed perspectives. It's a shame really, I was excited for this to be released after hearing the singles, only to be disappointed by the outcome

We have basically the same opinions about Grownd Dweller and this. I thought I Am was great. New Romantics had to grow on me but I ended up liking it and I enjoyed Colorblind a lot after the first listen (I still think it's okay, but it died down after I got over the heavy part and realized the chorus was the only standout moment). I just had so much more hope for this band. After Unimagine (although I still prefer Ground Dweller), I thought they were on the right track to something outstanding. This album isn't the worst thing in the entire world, but I do think I got exactly the opposite of what I wanted. If they put their minds to it, I'm sure they could make something truly beautiful. Unfortunately, this album isn't that.

I really don't think that this is more radio friendly, actually this is somewhat "harder".

What I miss about ground dweller was the chugg and soaring vocals, you telling me they've moved even further from that?

If you like the chugs you'll actually probably like this.

"What I miss about ground dweller was the chugg and soaring vocals, you telling me they've moved even further from that? "
vocals are the same as always. they don't really chug here, just do those open note kinda half rock/half post hardcore breakdowns if you know what i mean? kinda hard to explain

Vocals are definitely not the same. Trenton sounds so restrained and uninspired. Sure, he sounds "good" because of natural talent alone, but the only moment of him leaving this "good" phase is the chorus in Colorblind.

I've lIstened to color blind and I am, both those are tons better than anything on their sophomore I'm not getting how this is being labeLed as a conTinuation of that sound unless the rest of the album sounds nothing like what I just listened to

If you liked those tracks I say give the album a go.
And I agree their videos are terrible. They have potential to have awesome videos to match with their songs but usually they just look real fake.

judging from that one vid i saw (i think it was colourblind) this is even more horrible than their last one
