@Doomjitsu

You should have seen his review for Voivod's self-titled album.

"Voivod

So is this whole EP up on the internet already or something? I haven't heard Fall or Silver Machine yet.

Excellent stuff that continues the sci-fi tech thrash route of Target Earth but also brings some heavy Nothingface/Angel Rat vibes into the mix. I especially love the melodic tone of Forever Mountain and the psychedlic breakdown in the middle of We Are Connected.

Definitely a must hear for anyone who likes Voivod.

"As for the new bassist, I think he's good, but his bass seems a little too edgy for what I like from Voivod. Not bad, but I'll miss Blacky."

In what way? Both his tone and style are a dead ringer for Blacky. He's basically to Blacky what Dan is to Piggy, and he's definitely the only bassist they've had who tried to hard to nail the tone and aesthetic of Blacky's playing. The only real difference is the former's playing was more riff based whereas Rocky seems to pay more attention to chord tones and filling out the arrangement. At that point it's either Blacky or no one, as this was the closest they could get to exact replication.

Ep is the perfect means to hold me off until the next LP. Satisfying stuff.
