Yea yea, I've been following him since I was a teenager. Pretty well versed in his online presence. He's opinionated, but what he has to say is almost always well-researched and unbiased based on nationality. He's rather intelligent when it comes to history and politics. Always giving a pretty fresh & solid perspective.

Hell yes, definitely. I never get the feeling he is ever talking or writing out of his ass. However, it does irk me a bit when he starts railing on US politics, which he has done a lot, as opposed to those of Canada, his home country.

Oh hell yeah, just found this, doc on MGB if you haven't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsSgHIE7Q8o

Well his Vancouver album isn't exactly a love letter to his home town.

He talks about the city's issues and is pretty visceral at times.

So he is definitely not only targeting U.S politics. But to be fair U.S politics tend to affect the world at large so can't really blame him for criticizing them.

Yeah, he seems outspoken about everything true. Apparently his mouth used to get him in trouble with other bands as well.

I can imagine being in a band with him wouldnt have been easy, especially in his pre-hospitalization days. Still, I wish MGB had stayed together at least through Avalanche. It would have been interesting to hear what Dave Glenn would have added to the songs guitar wise.

To me Avalanche is already the closest thing to an MGB album. Some of it's tracks were from the MGB days and Rich Priske is playing bass on the record.I think it's perfect as is, and a perfect intro for MGB fans to his solo work.

Oh definitely, I have it as a classic, and I agree with you on its gravity to his solo career. That said, Dave and Matt worked really well together on record, if not in person, and it would have been interesting to hear that guitar interplay on that record, in particular. More distortion here, a solo there, that kind of thing.
