Yeah Adam was definitely the best part of TDG in my opinion, his vocals were distinctive at the very least. But still, I don't have high hopes for this based on the singles.

I like his voice.
The album though sounds boring to me so far...

Nice to see Gontier back in action. For me the real star of this album is Mike. That meaty distortion and attitude playing style in his riffs and solos just shows how bland most radio rock guitar is these days, even if Better Place's riff is as generic as they come.

hard to believe anyone is able to consider anyone other than Gontier as a highlight member. this band literally has almost no difference than One-X-era TDG

This is great, Adam never sounded better aiming for a happier style.

Honestly the main reason I am giving this a 3 and not a 2.5 is because of "let me live my life" and "leaving Minnesota" . There were just a lot of generic tracks on here. A quality track here and there, as well as the 2 gems. It's just I feel like there is no reason for *Saint Asonia* to exist besides Adam having an excuse to quit TDG... I guess I should be moving on, *Human* was clearly the better of the 2 albums, there were some bad tracks on that album, but I only found like 1 generic one.

Can't help but massively disagree. Human was a giant mess of overproduced generic crap. I like Matt Walst in My Darkest Days - it suits him - but his efforts to channel his 'inner Gontier' just resulted in sub-par whiny angst. Granted, Human isn't a TERRIBLE album, but at least Saint Asonia had a *little* bit more personality, mostly drawn from Gontier's vocals and some great guitar work.

If anything, they're both generic, while Human also has a very flawed execution and worse production.

That's a very fair opinion. The only edge Saint Asonia has really going for it is that it's nice to see Gontier back in the game, and there's a few solid tracks there. Aside from that, it's hardly different or stellar in any way.

I suppose so. Since One-X has always been my fav 3DG, I've wished for a very long time to hear something more in that vein, and this managed to deliver in that regard, even if under a different moniker. It surely did one certain part of me happy, and I revisited the album more often than expected, hence the high rating for it.

I don't know, I can easily remember all the tracks on human but "Landmine" and "Nothing's Fair in Love and War". Although my opinion of that album has gone down since I first listened to it. I had a first class ticket on The Hype Train. I initially gave it a 5, I realize that's far from the album's actual quality. The thing is, I still think the 1 track I absolutely hated was "One Too Many". It was a pop song trapped on a rock album... This album felt like a huge middle finger, with a cheap, but pretty good looking diamond ring on it. Us 3DG fans being the ones looking.

Holy shit the new song is so good

The Hunted has slick production and is completely inoffensive. The best a band like this can be in 2019 I guess

This bump reminded me that I really need to check this out
|

Yea, this could need some more 2.5s and 2.0s
